Shelbourne have created a luxury development which offers
beautiful modern design within the tranquil setting of the New Forest. If you wish to stay at one of the 74 rooms at The Shelbourne you might like to enjoy a drink at the bar and listen to relaxing sounds emanating from the grand piano in the central lobby. Perhaps have a style make- over in the salon or take in a film at the in-house cinema. While away your time with a good book in one of the lounges or maybe take a challenge in the games room. At the end of
the day enjoy a deliciously prepared meal in the dining room.
The list of facilities at this luxury development is the stuff five star
hotelsaremadefrombutthisisnot a five star hotel, this might just be the best you can find in senior living.
The luxury retirement complex has set new standards for
top-end assisted living. Opened in September 2008, The Shelbourne was built on the site of the former Sway Place nursing home and is the first assisted living project to be built by Shelbourne, a subsidiary of the O’Flynn Group.
O’Flynn Group chairman Michael O’Flynn commented on the
project: “Ken (Ken Waterhouse, MD of Shelbourne] said he wanted to create a five-star, but I think he has delivered aseven-starproject”. The exemplary quality of the
design and workmanship in the development is a key part of its seven-
star finish.
John Strand were invited to provide advice on the installation of
kitchens. They needed to work within a small space, not intrude into the apartment’s living space and offer a practical and appealing design. After some consultation the ‘Designer’ range Kitchenette was selected. The oak finish was chosen to compliment the palette of the interiors. The designer range is available in a range of sizes; however none of these were viableforthisdevelopment. Utilising their experience in design and close relationship with British cabinet makers a bespoke unit was developed to fulfil the requirements of the project.
The kitchen, which is developed by Electrolux exclusively
for John Strand is delivered as a complete unit, this means very little installation is required on site minimising the need for a lengthy and labour intensive fitting process. Helping to ensure the development could be met in budget and on time with the living space maximised.
